Can it be two years since we put a post up here? It certainly looks like it!
But today, in our small fellowship, we shared an "awesome" time of worship, starting with "Our God is an awesome God" and passing through other songs that praise Him and wonder at His grace, we centred on His faithfulness in Psalm 30 which was brought to us by one of our members.
We then heard from our friends Andy and Becky and family who are in South Africa with the exciting news that they will be back in the UK in December and hope to join us at some point.
Then we turned to the Word of God and Peter shared what he believed was a message from God. We are Children of God and we should behave like we are! Starting with John 1 v 12 "To those who believed he gave the right to become children of God" and with the same Apostle's words in 1 John 3 vv 12-14 and Paul's words to the Romans in Rom 8 vv 14-16 "For all who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, Abba Father! The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God."
We become Children of God when we are born again: i.e. when we believe that Jesus died for our sin and we begin to trust in his saving love and grace.
We finished with singing "No longer slaves"
And when I think that I will write something on this site, I find that two years ago the message was just about the same!
