This morning's meeting together was bound to be different. This week our friend, one time leader of this church alongside her husband Keith (one of two Elders) was called home by her beloved Jesus and taken to be with him.
It is now 20 months since the time when they left our fellowship but our affection for her and our respect for her talents and zeal in the Lord have not diminished. The last public event that we attended as a church with her was the closing celebration of the 24/7 Prayer Weeks when Jo was beside Keith leading the worship. That was her role that day but she had put great effort and creativity into the Prayer Room and blessed the town through it. Jo was a genuine prayer warrior. That was before the illness that took her from us became really apparent.
Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with Keith and their two beautiful children Millie and Theo at this sad time.
We will miss Jo but remember that her life displayed the glory of the Lord: His goodness, mercy, love, joy and faithfulness spilled out of her to all who were graced by her presence.
