We were meeting as usual this morning, including a Remembrance Time in our worship, but our time together proved to be better than usual.
We had a visit from a couple who are looking to settle in Banbury for a time and who had recently arrrived back from Bulgaria. They had found us on this website and we were very glad to see them.
It was as though they had been with us for a long time. They soon relaxed and joined in the fellowship time, chatting and sharing their wealth of experience. We enjoyed having them with us as we worshipped together, contemplated the Jesus' promise of peace over two minutes silence and listened to teaching from the Bible led by Mark. They were free enough and confident enough to share with us an encouraging word during our worshop time. We love it when that happens.
We serve coffee after the service and usually visitors take their leave and make their excuses as they have "places to go and people to meet". But today this couple stayed and joined in our shared lunch together. We really felt a bond and enjoyed real fellowship in the Lord together. We are encouraged in the bible "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." An angel is a "messenger". Today we received a message from our own angels!
Isn't it wonderful when we meet and eat in the presence of the Lord and enjoy time with strangers such as these. They are not strangers any more! Any friend of Jesus is a friend of ours.
